King me.
Gosh, isn't this texture and pattern great? My first attempt at a checkerboard-type pattern. 100% Baby Alpaca. Knitting with this soft snuggly yarn was a treat. Yes, I believe it was well worth the time, even though I have yet to eat breakfast... I'm keeping this one for myself.

It's lovely! I'm just imagining it as a blanket, lined with something beautifully soft in moss green, but perhaps that would just be too much knitting.
ReplyDeletebeautiful - i so want to learn to knit
ReplyDeletei love it and i am thinking one little person in this house may need just one!
ReplyDeletethank you for visiting beehousehives. i am so glad to have found your blog.. and a poet to boot! i LOVE writing, but am not so brave to share. i look forward to reading more, but wanted to say hello first!

That is awesome!
ReplyDeleteMise, A blanket is an excellent idea! I've recently been eyeing a pattern for a beautiful ruched blanket, but checkerboard would be fun too. Perhaps it's time I take on a longer-term project like a blanket. I'll keep you posted (pun!).
ReplyDeleteChar, You must. Just start simple. My first project was a basic knit stitch scarf. It's a nice way to relax and you end up with a nice soft something or other.
Sarah, Everyone deserves a nice soft scarf, especially in your Montana winter. Knit one up yourself or let me know if I should make #2 and put it in my Etsy shop for you. Thank you for your kind comments. You'll share when you are ready, no hurry. Better to write and not share than not to write at all.
Alexandria, Thank you! You are so sweet.
ooohh... so cozy looking.

ReplyDeleteLOVE the scarf--especially the cheerful color. You're so talented--wish I could knit. :)
ReplyDeleteChristina, It is so cozy and soft. I had a request for a similar scarf (different color), so just bought the same awesome yarn in a new color. Can't wait to knit with it again!
ReplyDeleteIsabelle & Mary-Laure, I really love the color too. It's fun to wear a nice bold accessory every once in a while.
Maria, Hello! So nice to see your face on my blog again! Thank you for your kind note.
Thao, You are sweet. Thank you. You should try knitting some time. It's wonderful in so many ways, especially when you end up with a nice cozy scarf for yourself.
Beautiful! I just started to learn how to crochet and saw a similair stitch pattern in a book and wanted to try it out.
ReplyDeleteAnnette, Thank you. I'm thinking about learning to crochet. Soon. So many things on the to-do list... Enjoy making your scarf!
ReplyDeletemmm alpaca... this is a great combination of pattern and fiber! one of the scarves i made my mom was a checkerboard patterned one...so nice that it doesn't curl at the edges.

ReplyDeleteI am really happy with this vibrant color. It's nice to treat yourself every once in a while, especially when that treat is wrapping yourself up in a nice soft pink scarf.
