inspiration, 2012
This beautiful slice of banana oatmeal bread inspired me. I hope mine inspires you. I only made my usual changes to the recipe, nine ingredients or so. I can't help it. It's my nature. I say start with Pam's recipe and make it your own, but if you really want to know what I switched up, just let me know.
Now for a warm slice...
That sound so good. I could go for a slice right now with my coffee. Following the link...
ReplyDeleteYou make me smile, Denise. Looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteyum. in a house where a ripe banana is a source of horror and fear a good banana loaf recipe is essential. I'm unable to follow a recipe without tweaking (married to a man for whom a recipe is inviolable..)
ReplyDeleteMmmm looks inviting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteEverything about this photo is perfect.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and am just in love with the beauty and simplicity. You have a really, really lovely space.
ReplyDeleteAnd the bread looks delicious...perfect for the cold, cloudy weather in my corner of the world.
Your composition of the quick bread and bowl of fruit is really painterly and very aesthically satisfying -as well as making me hungry :-)
ReplyDeleteI have a very good friend, Liz, who makes me a loaf or two of her incredibly delicious banana bread around the holidays every year. All year long I look forward to this gift from her. A good banana bread toasted with a pat of butter is sublime. By the way my friend who makes this yummy gift doesn't like bananas!
ReplyDeleteThe three (four) things I need to inspire me on this chilly, grey, January morning: home-baked goodness, colour (& beautiful composition), warmth. Lovely, thanks.
ReplyDeletejust made a loaf ~ in the oven now. I switched some things up, added granola, nutmeg, raisins and 1 more banana. Can't wait till it starts scenting the house!
ReplyDeleteokay, now I need to make a loaf. Great picture to inspire me!
ReplyDeleteI can see why you were inspired. This looks delicious. Thank you for sharing the recipe.
ReplyDeleteI only occasionally make banana bread these days - i have the rather bad habit of devouring an entire loaf the moment it comes out of the oven... it's a problem.
ReplyDeleteHappy devouring!
Denise: I love the photo: great warmth and composition. and of course, so comforting. I have been thinking a lot about your "way" of sharing thoughts. I often get intimidated by my blog and don't post for a while, until I feel ready... and I think that's a big mistake. Maybe for 2012, I will try to take on your philosophy, if I can... it's not easy. You are a master.
ReplyDeleteThere is no way this bread could taste more beautifully stunning than it looks. Now that's a still life!
ReplyDeleteeloquent and concise, Denise--makes me want to go and make one of my own (I've never put oatmeal in banana bread before, and why not?)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful image Denise! So I need to know...is 9 ingredients your limit or is that just how it always seems to work out?
ReplyDeleteLove this picture - so bright and something about it makes me feel uplifted. This is what 4:02 should feel like :) Banana bread - perfect idea. I think that will be my afternoon project tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteRachel, Well...sometimes it is 10.
ReplyDeleteI cannot link back to recipe... can you send it me privately.
ReplyDeletethe snow is falling.... falling...
RW, I don't know what's occurred, but my link is broken as well. I can tell you of another banana bread recipe I've always enjoyed. It is from a book my mother handed down to me, long ago... http://www.jamesbeard.org/index.php?q=recipes/show/banana_bread
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the snow.
