kate, Thank you. I was really happy to have been asked to contribute.
Lecia, So good to know. Thank you.
RW, Hope you enjoyed it. If you have a little free time, there have been many interesting creative minds featured --forty-six issues before mine. The site is filled with inspiration.
alexandria, Thanks. I am so happy to be a part of it all.
I enjoyed that, Denise, though you're still a mysterious person after I've read quite a bit about you. You always come across to me as a sparse and perceptive person (sparse as in unfluffy), wise and sure. I'd caption a photo of you 'the enigmatic knitter'.
I'm going to check out the new issue right away, but first I wanted to ask you about the picture on this post - it's very intriguing. Care to tell us more?
mise, I like perceptive. I like unfluffy. Wise and sure, both lovely! And 'the enigmatic knitter'... You crack me up!
Char, Thank you.
Camilla, First novel? Hmmm. Working on it.
Mary-Laure, The photograph was made in Connecticut, in my mother-in-law's den. I believe she told me the 'bust' you see is the former head of a large doll. She might have also mentioned it being from England. I'd like to know more about it too. It is pretty intriguing. It captured my attention the moment I saw it (her).
flwrjane, No... Okay, but do you think you could bring me a cookie and a glass of milk?
Maria, Thank you.
annette, Behind the Bakery does seem to be the favorite. VeryShortStory is pretty fun. I love the story about the burnt sausage and the one about the girl refusing to walk down the runway. There are so many I like.
Well you know you're amazingly talented yourself so congrats! I've left another comment on the site but this really touched me and now I can't get the stories or photos out of my head. It's a pity we don't live closer; I feel we'd have a lot to talk about.
I like them all but particularly "Nothing stays the same." A nostalgic but also crystal clear, uncluttered memory. "Macchiato." Love it. And the interview was perfect. Congratulations!
Congratulations and well deserved! Your stories are so powerful and always make me feel as if I'm right there in the moment with you. The mark of a great author.
I also enjoyed learning a bit more about you...thanks for pointing up to the issue.
beautiful - i always enjoy your writing, it was so nice to read a bit more about what inspires you. I like the first of your 'three constants', especially to 'capture a fragment of memory'. ps: I like your new profile image too :)
Annie, Thank you for such a kind note. Memory has always been an important thing in my life. Chris took my profile picture, not knowing it would be my profile picture. I thought it was time for a change.
Observer. Also, author of the novel “After the Sour Lemon Moon.” I recorded a free audio version at the beginning of the pandemic. You can find it in my Instagram bio, in highlights.
