Yes.

Anna Emilia wrapped up with a bow, 2011

To walk in the rain with an old friend (yes, J., I believe we have become old friends -- crazy, I know), to taste warm soup, to open a package, remembering there is still such a thing as real mail.

These are the good things in life.

  6. Simple pleasures are the very best kind and "real mail" is one of the best.

  14. Real mail is wonderful. Yesterday I was walking in the rain with no umbrella and I caught a stranger smiling at me. I looked back and exclaimed "it's just rain" and he smiled again.

  15. I'm a committed note mailer. Just small nothings to friends (partly because I'm a terrible call returner). The heart just lifts when I see a handwritten envelope. Lovely.

Mise, You are so right. That Jane...what was she thinking ; )

Amelia, Excellent idea. Cakes are always welcome.

Rachael, I'm such a fan of clean sheets. I like them cool during warm months and fresh from the warm dryer during the cool autumn and winter months.

    Nicole, And now I'm smiling.

kate, I'm sure your friends love receiving those notes and see them as much more than nothings.

Annie, Ah yes, real books. I am a fan.
