That quote is from his 2005 commencement speech to Stanford graduates, which is one of the best speeches I've ever heard. It is worth the 15 minutes.

One of my faves: "For the past 33 years, I've looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself - if today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today. And whenever the answer has been no for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something."

ReplyDeleteI loved his words. I wish he had been my dad and instilled this feeling of trust in me when I was a child. So often, it is hard to let go of the fear, of the expectations of others. I'm trying to teach myself that at the ripe old age of 40 :-) I sometimes wonder who I would have been if I had grown up without these 'limitations'.
