Proof Copy, 2014
I recall my long exhale after releasing a certain post into the world earlier this year. What would follow was still unknown.
There have been friends and family who have read After the Sour Lemon Moon and shared their thoughts about the story with me. There are those who quietly peruse this blog that have purchased my book, curious to see how I would write in book form. And there are the people who stumbled upon a book by an unfamiliar author and decided to take a chance, open that first page, and enter Sophia's world.
You have all made me very happy.
Hopefully as happy as you made us with your thoughtful story.

Thanks, Jane. Settling back in here. Wish me luck. xx
DeleteI enjoyed it on the river bank! :) vinothini_s (instagram)
ReplyDeleteA river bank as a reading spot is such a good idea.
DeleteIt was a pleasure to read it. xo
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jen!
DeleteA book you wrote is your other self and she will introduce you a lot of new friends. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI like this analysis.
DeleteAnd you make us happy, Denise.
ReplyDeleteOh... Thank you, Michele.
Deletemy copy has finally arrived! I began to read straightaway, standing amidst the debris of unpacking. I can't wait to settle down to read it properly. Happy new year Denise!
ReplyDeleteps. the comment above is from Little House Kate. I can't seem to comment in any form other than google id ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy new year Kate! Reading After the Sour Lemon Moon straightaway, amidst unpacking debris is quite the compliment. Thank you! I wish I knew what was up with Blogger so I could fix it... Thanks for finding a way with Google ID.
DeleteI was trying to catch up on blogs this morning and it's maybe a little serendipitous that this is the latest post of yours. I'm finally home for a stretch and that means I can read something other than a 'field' book. I had been waiting for that moment so I could pick up After the Sour Lemon Moon. I started it last night and I had to resist the urge to rush right through...because Sophia -- and your writing style -- pulled me into her world on page one. I want to savor...but at the same time can't wait to pick it back up tonight. A good way to start 2015. Hope you are well Denise!
ReplyDeleteThe word on the street is everyone has given up blogging, yet I'm so far behind I've given up the idea of catching up. Clearly, there is still some blogging going on. So good to know you are home for a stretch and able to do some leisurely reading. Thanks so much for making my book one of those choices. It's funny how books take on a life of their own. I imagined writing a slow read, hopefully slow in a good way, but you are one of many who have found it a read-straight-through type of book. I'm happy either way. Enjoy this time at home, Rachel. Happy reading!
ReplyDeletehappy new year, Denise. thanks for creating Sophia's world, and for not giving up blogging. you share so many good things.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nancy. I've enjoyed it all.
