The Simple Beauty of the Blood Orange
Blood Orange Juice
serves 1 (but leaves one wanting more)
3 blood oranges
Learn from my mistake and wear proper attire (old t-shirt or perhaps something red -- this can be messy). Slice oranges in half. Remove juice from oranges (I like to use a simple and quiet manual juicer). Pour juice into glass of choice. Serve Immediately.
serving suggestion: drink while looking out of a window at sunrise

Perfection!
ReplyDeleteHow did you know I love blood oranges? The skies are pink and orange now in the morning and evening so I'm looking forward to enjoying them while drinking this. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSounds delightful.
ReplyDeleteyum!
ReplyDeleteI'm scouting out blood oranges this weekend. Such beauty you bring each week.
ReplyDeleteyum....absolutely yum
ReplyDeleteSuch a personalized recipe, and such fun to read. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteMmmm. Too bad fruit is so expensive in Denmark or I'd have made it right away :-)
ReplyDeleteThe blood orange is my poetic muse too - I am inspired by your suggestion to enjoy it at sunrise.
ReplyDeleteI meant to come here yesterday and write you a comment ... the red glow of the sunset reminded me of your blood orange post :^)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy this fabulous weekend weather...
oh! I just noticed Emily's comment ... wow, same same!
ha ha like that....look out of the window while drinking.
ReplyDeleteBut come to think of it, how many of us really relax while having food.
I think your serving suggestion should apply to everything. Amazingly enough I've never eaten a blood orange...I should remedy that.
ReplyDeleteI actually don't mind spills. To me it's almost like a reminder of a moment in time. Not really good attire sure. But old stuff; I love my clothes with a little "history" on them.
ReplyDeleteI love blood oranges, and this description of your experience.
ReplyDeleteI usually start my morning by juicing a cup of oranges. Love the little play on the serving portion.
ReplyDeleteI missed you, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteJust stumbled upon your blog... love it! Have a happy Valentines Day!
ReplyDeleteA challenging recipe, but worth the effort, I think. Will immediately (for serving) really be soon enough?
ReplyDeleteThank you, every one of you. I hope you are all taking in your fair share of vitamin C today. Maybe a little chocolate too.
ReplyDeleteJuice in a mason jar is simply perfect. Blood oranges make this sophisticated.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture. Need juice....
