  2. I love ferry rides. My mother used to live on an island that was and hour and a half ferry ride--it was a vacation in itself.

    1. Me too. Perhaps eve better than train rides. Traveling to visit your mother must have been a treat. Living on an island has always appealed to me.

  3. Love that fresh crispy air and sensation of freedom that being on the sea gives. Enjoy!

  5. I grew up riding ferries between the US and Canada. I've continued the tradition taking ferries from Long Island to Fire Island in the summer.

My all time favorite ferry ride was to Capri, well of course it was.

    Nice memories,

  6. I've taken rare--infrequent---ferry rides, to Long Island's Shelter Island, from Seattle to Bainbridge, and the best, on the Blue and Gold fleet from S.F. to Tiburon. Something wonderful and freeing about being transported this way.

    1. This was an SF to Sausalito ferry. It is a favorite, especially the early morning ride. The Seattle to Bainbridge is a nice ride too, a MUCH larger ferry. And then there are the short and beautiful rides between the Aeolian Islands... So many good ferry rides.

Breathing the fresh air and listening to the sounds of the sea is one of the most relaxing experiences.
