  5. I love this book design. I feel it speaks lots of things without words in stead of you. It is a window to empathy.

  9. RATS! For whatever reason, my comments never seem to "stick"! :( But I'm back to say CONGRATULATIONS--I really cannot wait to read it. Savor the awesomness of it all.

    1. Oh no... Sorry about your comments not sticking. This is probably one of the reasons I see so many people that I used to see here over on Instagram. Darn Blogger. Grrr. Thank you, Kristen, for being in both places and for your kind words.

  16. Finally ordered my copy + I'm excited to read it--you know, just at the end of summer. :) Life has been so chaotic these days. I'm starting to slow down and find quiet, which means finding time to return to some of my favorite internet spaces. Sending you love.

    1. I'm so happy to know you'll be reading After the Sour Lemon Moon. I like that you have just ordered now. The whole publishing push to have everyone --buy now-- is something I've always disliked. Thanks, Molly. Enjoy your quiet.

  17. Congratulations, Denise! I read your book while on a short family trip to Chicago last month (kind of fitting, don't you think?). I had to put it down every once in a while just to think about the story and characters. I have a good friend whose mom left their home (which included dad and older brother) when she was about 8 years old. Of course, I kept thinking of my friend and her family while reading. And your words filtered through the prism of my own experience as a wife and mother. Wish I could talk to you in person about your novel. It was very moving, and the settings were transportive, too. I hope you'll continue to write and share your words with others. Best always to you...
