Lounge

View from Lounge, 2014

I have decided to refer to my writing room/office as my lounge. It somehow removes pressure. The difference between saying I'm going into the office and I'm going to the lounge is immense.

You see, I sometimes need to play psychological games with myself to make things happen. It is what it is. It's like my dad says, is it really a placebo if it works?

Lounge. It's a good word. Say it. Did your mouth form a sly little Rat Pack smile? You know it did.

  1. Yes. I formed a Rat Pack smile.

Thank you for the inspiration. I think I'll start calling my office my Lab. Lab. It's a good word. Do you imagine a white lab coat and beakers? Perhaps something on fire?

  3. i guess it probably helps that your room actually looks like a lounge:) i´ll call my office the "white room" now - because it is and it has such a calming effect, colour and name.
    thank you - as always!

  4. I call my office "my perch"--a little room between 2 floors that was known as a sleeping porch long ago. High up, it has a wall of window looking out over the backyard. It can get loungey in here, in a treehouse kinda way.

  8. I'm loving this idea. I say office. Or sometimes the sunroom (which is what it was before I hijacked it for my working space and put a desk and chair in). But I do more reading in there than actual work, it seems, though it's all related I suppose. But lounge? Covers everything! Love it.
