A Sentence from a Poem

Petals, 2013

This light, young as it never will be again.

A sentence from a poem, Going Home Day, from a volume of poetry I bought this morning, Leaving Yuba City by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni.

  1. I enlarged your photo and sat with it as I sipped my morning coffee in an unusually quiet house. The light in your photo is beautiful, as is the sentence. The light here this morning is changing constantly as an erratic wind pushes clouds at intervals over the sun. I hope your Sunday is a good one.

    1. The fresh fallen petals might have been prettier than the peonies in full bloom. Enjoy your words, kate.

  6. I do so greatly like that line. The low light of autumn here feels just like that to me. And it sums up the feel of days of late. Of course, now, I must find out more about its companion lines. Thank-you for this gentle nudge and inspiration.

  9. The seed being born with it's own end in mind.
The paradox at the core of our lives, but beautifully framed. Is it beauty that in the end makes it all bearable?
