Living

The bus to Rodeo Beach, 2011

Rodeo Beach, 2011

He meant doing things not because we were expected to do them or had always done them or should do them but because we wanted to do them. He meant wanting. He meant living.

  1. The last 2 sentences, their spareness, their urgency resonate. Thank you, Denise.

  7. chimes with Jobs - not living someone else's life. stripping life away to those things that give it purpose and delight for you: this is deeply meaningful to me right now. thank you!

  9. I missed this post last week -- I think I probably was distracted by your satsumas & thoughts of book recommendations.

But the second day of the new year is a very appropriate time to think about doing & wanting & living. So I'm here, now, focused on the images & thoughtfully selected, oh-so-perfect quote. Because I want to. And now I'm writing a few grateful words for (yet again) the resonance & timeliness of your photographs & thoughts. Because I want to. No "shoulds" at all.

I shall strive to live more mindfully and honestly today.

    Thank you.
