  1. Somehow that was a very relaxing read.

And I love your temporary girls with the passion vine:)

    Enjoy your time away.

  2. Don't you love it...I am smiling from ear to ear. Thank you Denise for the Monday morning pause - xo

  3. I love it! Especially the bit about the calves. They always look so wonderfully truant when on the wrong side of the fence.

  4. Nice to know that crime can look like this somewhere in the world.

  5. I hope the Sheriff found time for a slice of apple pie among that lot. What a fine glimpse of reality.

  6. Love the pic of the "girls". Very cute.

  7. Happy to know some smiles were generated by this little post. You made me smile too. Hope today has been beautiful for all of you. The sun is shining here, a gentle is breeze blowing. Life is good.

  8. yes, i wanted to know.

p.s. your posts make me want to rewrite everything i have ever written.

  9. I love reading the sheriff's calls ... so random, so often ridiculous. I also have some 'girls' I visit about an hour north of here ... :)

ps, just finished reading Wallace Stegner's 'Crossing to Safety.' So good.

  10. it reads just like an excerpt from my friend's book "bar harbor police beat". that's what i read when i hang out in the bathroom. i think you would enjoy it very much, denise.

  11. these are hysterical. seems all is well, really, with the police reports. i wonder how these would be different in my beloved oakland.

  12. melissa (counting dandelions), No...

nicole, I've added Crossing to Safety to my to-read list. It looks good. I recently began listening to a different Wallace Stegner novel and wasn't enjoying it. I so often have difficulty with listening to books. The reader can make or break the book. Perhaps I should stick to reading all by myself. That being said, I adore Donald Sutherland's reading of The Old Man and the Sea.

alison, I just might have to go and check out Bar Harbor in person.

Katrina, San Francisco might be a bit different as well...
